Tuckasegee River Excursion
There's a reason the Tuskegee October Excursions are a month long - fall is one of the most picturesque seasons in the Western North Carolina mountains. Everywhere you look, the scenery is ablaze with brilliant fall foliage. View these spectacular fall leaves from the train. The Tuckasegee River Excursion is a 4 hour, 32-mile round trip ride along the scenic Tuckasegee River, with narration about interesting and historic spots along the trip. Tuckasegee (or "daksi-yi" in Cherokee) means The Place of Turtles.
